Microsoft System Alliance Partners - The Big Family

describe the imageLast sunday, I had the chance to be a contributor to "Partner Day" at MMS 2013 in Las Vegas. This day is really important because it gathers the 200 Microsoft partners with System Center offerings. GSX is part of it, thanks to the management pack we have for SCOM 2012.

The aim of "Partner Day" is to explain the main achievements of System Center and what they expect from the SCA partners in terms of technology.

What caught my attention, of course, is how GSX could bring added value as a third-party application for System Center Operation Manager.

They put a particular focus on what they achieved as a team, and here is the very last launch that was announced in early 2013:

  • System Center 2012 SP 1 and Windows Azure were launched
  • Multi-tenant Management
  • Infrastructure Management
  • Unified Management across the board
  • Global Service Monitor
  • Windows Azure

The really big trend and focus is of course on Hyper-V and the Cloud. They gave us some interesting metrics and trends that I would like to share:

  • Market shares increased from 1-2% per Quarter
  • 21% growth for Hyper-V
  • New social components and apps
  • Data explosion
  • Consumerizartion of IT
  • Cloud Computing
  • The Cloud OS
  • Modern platform for apps

Another important aspect for us, being SCA partners for several years now, is that if Microsoft wants the ecosystem to really leverage Microsoft technology...We need to continue developing complimentary tools for customers to get the most out of SYSTEM CENTER, and especially SCOM concerning:

  • Management Pack authoring
  • Console view extension
  • SDK client
  • Connector Framework
  • Agentless monitoring and SNMP

This was more than interesting as it really confirms the connection we have with SCOM Users and our famous, agentless monitoring and reporting solutions. Moreover, the reporting capabilities of SCOM is currently kind of limited. We received many feedback during the first day of the MMS 2013 show around improvement that should be made on the SCOM reporting capabilities - Thanks to our "I Wish" campaign

We have strong expertise here at GSX and bring business value to our customers. We do this by offering them built-in reporting solutions to allow them to have the ability to take proactive actions and have effective capacity planning.

Here is more information about GSX Analyzer for you to better understand how to take advantage of our solution.
