Environmental Health, What is it ?

Posted by Eileen Fitzgerald on Thu, Sep 09, 2010

Environment Health is a new feature in Analyzer that allows you to take a big picture overview of the servers in your collaborative environment and compare the performance of SLAs and KPIs across all the servers in your environment. With Environmental health reports you can build profiles that enable you to instantly and easily compare key metrics across all servers in your environment. Rapidly identify ‘trouble servers’ and prioritize for attention.

Key Features:

  • Provides a high level overview of the health of the collaborative environment.

  • Allows you to set expectations (SLAs) to compare the performance of individual servers and services against the company average and SLA.

  • Enables you to easily identify high performing and low performing servers in your global collaborative environment. Prioritize servers and services that require attention.

  • Enables you to monitor performance against KPIs and take action when required, prior to SLAs coming under threat.

  • Offers the flexibility to monitor a range of SLAs and KPIs which are critical to your business.

  • Enables you to identify trends in your overall environment, or at individual server level, with the click of a button.

  • Includes templates to assist you in getting up and running rapidly.

What is the benefit of the Environmental Health Tab?

Save time and rapidly identify issues that need to be addressed. Using this incredibly strong feature, you can set the threshold that you expect your technical and service metrics to meet, across your organization. With a click of a button you can then compare how ALL servers in your collaborative environment are performing with respect to these expectations.

Compare how individual servers compare to the company average and SLA. Environmental health will automatically calculate the average of the statistic that you are comparing across a server and will also calculate the standard deviation of your servers around that average.

Easily identify servers that are not meeting expectations and prioritise for attention. As previously discussed, take a big picture overview of the components but rapidly identify and focus on the details that are relevant to you.

You can not only track the performance of that server across the statistics being detailed in the tab, you can also query all of the alerts related to that server.

Many managers and administrators suffer from 'Too much information' and find it impossible to identify the relevent details from the deluge of data. Environmental Health allows you to view the big picture while rapidly identifying the relevent detail.
