has provided Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
for chemical and biomedical laboratories. These systems can
be critical to an organization’s process control and product
certification activities. |
| For
example, in steel manufacturing the LIMS collects data from
various analytical devices, creates appropriate database records,
and stores the record for use by Sales, Quality Assurance, Operations,
and Design personnel. These devices can include X-ray or Optical
Emission spectrometers, LECO analyzers, and radiation detectors.
Integration can be achieved through Ethernet connection, serial
interfaces, or any other type of communication method. |
