Assisting Flow Cytometry Laboratories
MSA's CytoConnect™ eliminates data entry and transcription errors in the Flow Cytometry Laboratory by using barcode scanning technology and standard ASTM or HL7 communication protocols, thus replacing data entry and transcription errors resulting from manual data entry in BD FACS™ Sample Prep Assistant I/II (SPAI/II), BD™ Worklist Manager or FACSCanto™ software. Created to connect the Becton Dickinson (BD) Biosciences flow cytometers with any hospital Laboratory Information System, CytoConnect is BD's preferred LIS interface.
CytoConnect is able to reduce time and error by automatically transferring clinical test results from the flow cytometer to the Laboratory Information System (LIS). CytoConnect replaces the manual input of information while reducing errors and increasing productivity.

How it Works:
- Scan specimen barcodes to query for tests ordered.
- Create and save worklist of specimens.
- Import worklist into BD FACS™ SPA.
- Import worklist into BD™ Worklist Manager or FACSCanto™ software.
- Run specimens using Worklist Manager/MultiSET™ or FACSCanto™ software.
- Results generated can then be sent to the LIS.
