What is Monitoring Technology? Over the last 20 years, most organizations have amassed networking equipment, servers, applications, telecom equipment and security controls. While each of these tools plays an important part in an organization's overall IT infrastructure, monitoring all these tools from a leadership perspective can pose a daunting challenge. Vendors provide a myriad of solutions, some of which offer limited or excessive, under-utilized functionality. This, in turn, forces many organizations to procure multiple monitoring solutions, increasing the chance for redundancy. The outcome of this process reduces efficiency and provides IT leadership with a convoluted view of their organization’s IT infrastructure. To address this need, MSA has developed a monitoring technology assessment to help organizations pull their monitoring technology in line with their business.
Complex Monitoring Environments The multiple tools most organizations have promote a high level of complexity as monitoring technology spans many departments including:
MSA's solution can help organizations cut through these complexities and provide a realistic assessment of what is
integrated and what should be integrated.
APD Methodology MSA and its partners provide the three step APD (Assess, Plan, Deploy) Methodology to understand the state of your enterprise to align it with your business needs:
The service is provided in three steps. At the end of each step, you receive a thorough written report and a presentation to the appropriate personnel. The report and presentation will contain:
Services Description Assess This assessment reviews your organization's current monitoring technology so you know what is and what is not available regarding FCAPS (Fault, Configuration, Accounting, Performance and Security) management disciplines. Assessment concludes with a thorough
report and presentation to the appropriate personnel.
Plan Post assessment, MSA will prepare a plan to unify your organization's current monitoring technologies and align those technologies with your business needs. This plan will be created specifically for your organization and presented to the appropriate personnel. Deploy MSA will assist your organization's IT personnel in deployment of the monitoring technology unification plan. This may involve systems integration, software development or project management. MSA's staff of approximately 150 IT professionals (out of 850 total staff) is available to assist your IT personnel in whatever capacity necessary. MSA will document the deployment and a project summary will be provided to the appropriate personnel post deployment. After completion of the APD, your organization's monitoring will be comprehensive, holistic and reliable. Download Monitoring Technology Assessment flyer |
