Carlow University Sponsorship of the MSA
Sports Network Expands Coverage of Girls Sports Across the Pittsburgh
Region
Pittsburgh, September 20, 2005 - If you ever wished for more comprehensive coverage of high school girls sports, you will be glad to know – "the times are a changing". Thanks to sponsorship by Carlow University of MSA's technology, the world will now hear more play-by-play of high school girls sports. Carlow University's WPIAL Girls Soccer Game of the Week will run every week this season with host Bob Orkwis exclusively on MSASports.net (started September 12, 2005). MSA Sports is free to the community with no user registration required to listen. The broadcasts can be heard both LIVE and archived for Listen on Demand. Don Rebel, MSA Sports Operations Manager, said "With this sponsorship from Carlow, MSA Sports can now expand the coverage of girls sports, including the Soccer Game of the Week. We are always looking for ways to expand coverage and when a sponsor steps up to the plate to underwrite a program it's a huge win - win. MSA Sports has tried to cover all high school girls sports including schedules, athlete profiles, dedicated broadcasts and exclusive coverage of WPIAL championships, and Carlow University's support will make this effort much more visible and feasible." In addition to the weekly girls soccer feature, Carlow University will sponsor WPIAL championship broadcasts of all female sports throughout the 2005-2006 school year. The CEO of MSA Sports' parent Management Science Associates, Dr. Alfred Kuehn, appreciates that its technology is being applied to supporting students' educational activities. "Fortune 500 companies depend on MSA to keep their data safe with disaster recovery programs and support of mission critical software applications – now our technology is also being used to train broadcasters and to bring community news directly to over half a million students, parents and friends. It's wonderful to see the MSA Sports Network so well received by corporate sponsors like Carlow, Comcast and Foodland, as well as the community."
