MSA Sports Network WPIAL 2004 Football Starts With A Bang
PITTSBURGH, PA - SEPTEMBER 1, 2004. The MSA Sports Network launched coverage of the 2004 High School Football season by broadcasting This Week in the WPIAL last Wednesday followed on Friday by more than 30 games on local radio stations and MSA Internet web sites: www.msasports.net and www.msasportsnetwork.com. MSA Sports Network and its radio affiliates have grown the past 3 years to become the Greater Pittsburgh Region's favorite high school web site and sports Radio/Internet broadcast network. Broadcasting a series of weekly shows and live play-by-play action across its Radio/Internet network, its audience has grown a minimum of 36% in each of the last 3 years and now hits new highs in absolute and percentage terms: Total Visits +75%; New Visitors +66%; Unique Visitors +49%; Total Repeat Visitors +46%. The only statistic that was reduced is the average time spent during each visit, -8%, as the new design of the website and improved communications networks available to users enable users to view more pages of material in less time! MSASportsNetwork.com continues to become a more valued information source for live streaming and archiving all standings, articles and broadcasts of programming for local sports fans. Management Science Associates, Inc. (MSA) has owned and operated this Network and other K-12 education related products and services under its corporate umbrella. MSA Sports Network launched E-Newsletter earlier this week to provide important announcements for WPIAL Sports fans, inviting fans that have been in touch with the MSA Sports Network to indicate whether they want to receive the free newsletter that was attached, or know of others that may wish to sign up to receive it. The MSA Sports Network has been accessed from over 400,000 separate PCs, so there is a large potential audience for such a related service if it can provide timely, valuable information for sports fans, K-12 educators and parents. MSA Sports Network provides Internet broadcasting and archiving for all WPIAL sports, boys and girls, as well as for band concerts, graduation ceremonies, debates and other academic events. Its audience for concerts has been greater than for sporting events, as there are more members of high school bands than high school sports teams. MSA assistance to high schools and local colleges to help develop announcers, programmers, managers and technicians, enables students to develop organizational, presentational and speaking skills and to gain experience in career development. Perhaps some SW PA students will begin careers as announcers of sporting events, much as Ronald Reagan did before moving on to Hollywood.
