Northside Bank Moving Into The Future

PITTSBURGH, PA - SEPTEMBER 1, 2004. NorthSide Bank has teamed with Management Science Associates, Inc. (MSA) to upgrade its technology infrastructure so that future communication plans, data growth and regulatory requirements can be accommodated easily and cost effectively. As the result of its collaboration with MSA, NorthSide Bank now utilizes state-of-the-art technology in all of its branches to provide better service to its customers. The servers and workstations have been standardized on the most stable and secure system of Windows XP and Windows Server 2003, which has more powerful management and backup tools and will considerably reduce administration time and expenses. MSA's solution prepares NorthSide Bank for the requirements of today and the demands of tomorrow.

MSA's Information Technology Systems and Services team analyzed the technology needs of NorthSide Bank and offered their "One Call" Services, which include not only the upgrade of NorthSide's IT infrastructure, but also the ongoing support/partnership for their entire network. "MSA offers more than a turn-key solution," says Mike Devinney, Director of MSA's ITSS team. "We offer our clients MSA's domain knowledge to provide best practice solutions and, once implemented, we continue to support those solutions with our 'One Call' Services." The technology solution MSA gives to its clients is what has kept the company successfully running for over 40 years.

"We partnered with MSA based on their ability to address all of the requirements (from desktop rollout to firewalls to Spam filters to intrusion detection/prevention) that banks must constantly consider," states Jeff Uselman, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at NorthSide Bank. "MSA's product offerings, support and the level of expertise demonstrated by the company's engineers and technicians proved that we selected the right company for this extremely complex and important undertaking."

"The implementation of the new systems was accomplished with no interruption in service to our customers or employees, which is a tribute to the team collaboration between NorthSide Bank and MSA," stated Andy Hasley, the President of NorthSide Bank.

MSA's technology refresh of NorthSide Bank's entire organization included: replacement of Cisco networking equipment; installation of additional firewalls; configuration of all desktops, software and server components; implementation of a corporate antivirus solution, a managed host-based intrusion prevention/detection system, and an enterprise-wide data backup and host management server solution; removal of old hardware, plus hard-drive cleansing; assistance with data migration and third party software upgrades and troubleshooting.
