MSA Sports Network Kicks Off the Fall
High School Football Season with This Week in the WPIAL PITTSBURGH, PA - AUGUST 20, 2004. The MSA Sports Network will launch its coverage of the 2004 WPIAL High School Football season with its This Week in the WPIAL broadcast on Wednesday, August 25, 2004. MSA Sports Network and its radio station affiliates have grown over the past three years to become Western Pennsylvania's favorite high school web site and sports Radio/Internet broadcast network. Broadcasting a series of weekly shows including: the Pre-Game Show, Scoreboard Show and Roundtable, as well as Scholastic Forum, Scholastic Recap, This Week in WPIAL, and live play-by-play action across its Radio/Internet network. This is available at MSASportsNetwork.com, which has become a valued information source for live streaming and archiving all standings, articles and archived broadcasts of the programming for Western PA high school sports fans. Management Science Associates, Inc. (MSA) has owned and operated this Sports Network along with its other education related products and services operating under the MSA corporate umbrella. The name change from NSNSports to MSA Sports Network releases synergies across all MSA education-focused initiatives. With the addition of KQV 1410-AM, WWCS Radio Disney 590-AM and Altoona WRTA 1240-AM, MSA Sports Network radio station affiliates have grown to 30 Stations in the Tri-State area. Continuing growth on the Internet at over 35% per year has resulted in the MSA Sports web site being visited from over 400,000 different PCs, with over 100,000 visits last year for the one-day, two hour WPIAL Playoff Game Pairing Show! But MSA Sports Network covers not only football. Indeed it was launched three years ago with the WPIAL baseball playoffs at PNC Park and pre-tested in basketball games. It provides Internet broadcasting and archiving capabilities for all WPIAL sports, boys and girls, as well as for band concerts, graduation ceremonies, debates and other academic events. "We are delighted with the growth of the MSA Sports Network audience over the past several years" said Dr. Alfred A. Kuehn, Founder and CEO of MSA, a Pittsburgh based firm. "It is a pleasure to work with a first class athletic association like WPIAL and the 200 school communities in the Tri-State area for whom we provide coverage. We are equally delighted to be able to offer this growing, unique audience to our advertisers." Kuehn continued, "the events themselves are the key draw for our audience and advertisers, but over and above the athletic skills displayed every week, MSA is pleased to do its part to help promote the importance of the life skills these student athletes and their supporters, as well as student broadcasters, are gaining by teamwork, hard work, striving for goals, and good sportsmanship. These skills and learning are critically important to all of us, and MSA is happy to help foster these skills and values." MSA Sports Network broadcast over 1800 events last season, including two or more broadcasts for every school. Football commands the largest audience, but other WPIAL sports are equally important to their athletes and supporters, and MSA Sports Network covers all of them for both girls and boys, including: soccer, tennis, golf, volleyball, cross-country, swimming/diving, wrestling, hockey, baseball, softball, track and field. MSA Sports Network also provides its Hometown Broadcast service to allow schools to broadcast their own events. Don Rebel, MSA Sports Network Operations Manager, is recognized as one of the most knowledgeable broadcasters in Western PA High School sports. Rebel states, "MSA Sports Network specializes in all academic programming; we are deeply involved in these communities. I think we have grown so much because of the quality of our programming. I am flattered that MSA thinks highly enough of our efforts to want to complement their other education products and services with the reputation we have earned with our radio network. We've now changed the name but still have the same game!" ABOUT MSA Management Science Associates, Inc.
