Quick and effective communication capabilities are essential to dramatically improving operational effectiveness and safety during any emergency. In education settings, emergency situations arise without notice. These situations require quick thinking and decision making by those involved. Experts agree that the outcomes of these situations can be greatly altered by the action taken in the first seconds and minutes after a situation has occurred. Educators must have a way to quickly, reliably and securely coordinate communication between key decision makers and throughout an emergency situation. MSA's Critical Connect MSA's Critical Connect service offers a way for key decision makers to quickly, reliably and securely be teleconferenced together during an emergency situation. An initiator simply dials the teleconference phone number and enters a host code. From that point, all other team members are simultaneously called via a pre-determined list of telephone numbers. The list of numbers is prioritized so that Critical Connect dials the number where each team member is most likely to be reached first. If the team member is not reached at the first number, Critical Connect automatically dials subsequent numbers until they are reached. Once a team member is reached, they simply enter a secure guest code and are joined to the conference call.
