We’re in New Orleans for the week at TechEd North America, and it’s been a blast!
I wanted to give our readers some insight on what’s happening as the event unfolds, especially for those of you who were unable to attend this year. I just finished the first day and it has lived up to each year’s expectations of lots of networking, demos and great time!
The most important aspects of TechEd that keep us busy are: the conference, show floor and community.
First I would like to talk to you about the Keynote. It began with an amazing video where Brad Anderson, the Corporate Vice President of Program Management for Microsoft's Windows Server and System Center Group (WSSC), was depicted as 007. He arrived in an Aston Martin with the classic black sunglasses to kickoff the first keynote. Brad discussed the changes in datacenter and the importance of why Azure is so relevant to those changes.
Below are the main topics that were covered:
- How services are delivered to end-users
It’s important to keep in mind the number of product releases they will be launching and see how dynamic these releases will be…Version 8.1 is about to come in the third week of June as well as a new version of Visual Studio.
A great video that summing up the keynote is available here.
Next, I want to highlight the opening day on the show floor. It was unbelievably busy for the whole team! The “I wish…Microsoft” campaign has been very popular, with most of the wishes focusing on Exchange and SharePoint. These wishes included hopes for easier management, interoperation and better analytic metrics.
Interested in Exchange and Office 365? There are a ton of sessions to look forward to that are listed here. Check out which sessions and labs are offered for IT pros and developers on the topics of high availability, unified messaging, site mailboxes, archiving, virtualization and more!
If you would like even more coverage on TechEd 2013, I recommend checking out TechNet. They offer live stream coverage of the event, agendas and recorded sessions viewable online for those who were unable to make it to every session on their list!
Were you able to make it to TechEd North America? What were some of your highlights from the first day? Don't forget to come by Booth 417 to say hello and grab some flashing glasses!
If you would like to schedule a demonstration on site, or if you are not attending TechED, please let us know as we can set another time to present you the brand new version of GSX Monitor & Analyzer!
