Day Four at MMS 2012 and you could tell things are starting to wind down, not to say that there still wasn’t a lot of good content, there was, but you could tell the week was coming to an end. Steve and the team spoke to attendees in the Expo Hall from 9:45 until closing at 2:00, at which time we drew a winner for our AR Drone Quadrocopter. I don’t have the details but I’m sure we’ll be posting another update.
I attended a few sessions today starting out the morning with a session on driving adoption across the enterprise from a customer perspective. The presentation was based on a case study, so it was interesting to how things worked out in an actual company setting.
The second session was about IT Pros and application management, this session covered many areas, but really gave a good introduction to the IT Pro audience on some things to consider from the application side. The presenters covered deployment, monitoring and operations, all from the service level. The key to the success of a private cloud deployment is considering the value and impact to your end users. The overall main theme was in line with the entire conference, deliver IT as a service on demand.
Finally I attended session in the late afternoon regarding Operations Manager Tips and Tricks. The first portion reviewed changes in Mircrosoft certifications, as they’ve brought back the MCSE and the MCSA. The good news is if you have an MCITP, you already have the MCSA, the MCSE requires a couple of separate private cloud based exams. The session provided a lot of information, the presenters discussed change and problem management and outomating these processes. I would recommend viewing the video if posibble, the Session ID is SD-B315.
Tomorrow I have just a couple of sessions to attend and again I will be commenting on them in twitter; if you’d like to follow @carl_drechsel. As always you can follow us on twitter @gsx_solutions
